Peter Vardy Newsroom
The Land Rover Discovery was first introduced to the general public in Plymouth in 1989 and instantly became the vehicle of choice for those with a real sense of adventure.
Capitalising on a world famous All-terrain system and all round versatility the Discovery was destined to be a classic. The Discovery has taken explorers such as Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Ben Saunders to places on earth that most would consider inhospitable. It has been key in helping sportsmen to undertake and succeed in some of the most difficult rally challenges in the world such as the Paris-Dakar Rally and the off-road Camel Trophy. Adventures like these capture the spirit of the defender and all contribute to the success of the car and to it's refinement through the years.
